Buy Chicken NOW, Stockpile Chicken NO REFRIGERATION

| Prepping | Canning Chicken

@ladyhawthorne1 -- I've eaten home canned chicken that was 13 years old and it was wonderful, so 15 years sounds fine to me. And I would agree with others in the comments, don't leave it in the canner overnight, take it out soon and set on a towel out of a breeze. Let the jars set still for 12 - 24 hours before removing the rings and thoroughly wash the jars in warm soapy water, rinse and set to dry before labeling and storing. I've been canning over 35 years in case anyone was wondering.

Opening A Huge 64 Year Old Can Of Fruit Cocktail

Opening up this 64-year-old container of dehydrated fruit, you can hear that a bit of it is loose, but most of it is stuck together, as dehydrated fruit often is—sticky, unlike freeze-dried. I thought shaking it would break it apart more, but it’s coming apart slowly. I remember when I bought this four years ago, shaking it made it feel like everything inside had come apart. I can’t wait to get this open and show you the really cool label from the early 1960s. This stuff is basically fruit cocktail mix, but it needs to be soaked in water overnight. I wonder if it’ll still be good. I think it actually might be, considering that a few years ago, maybe four, I opened something similar from the shelf, and it was fine.

DIY - EASY TO MAKE SOAP RECIPE FOR BEGINNERS - ONLY THREE INGREDIENTS

Comments -

-Yup, I have made soap many times in the past. I have a box of soap making and candle making supplies...for shtf situations. Also have started making homemade vinegars for cleaning and salad dressing type purposes. Love that you are showing people how to do this basic skill that most people don't know how to do anymore.

-This is such an awesome video. A lot of people, even in the prepping community, don't realize that hygiene is just as important in prepping and survival as most other things. Not to mention the morale boost you get during that kind of situation from being able to get and feel clean. It makes a difference. It is important. And it's definitely a great barter item. Thank you for sharing this. Great to see you back.

-Hi AP Fam… Rudy did an awesome job! As a diaper, I have a couple of things to suggest that might make things a little easier. If you freeze your water into small ice cubes, it will take the fumes of the lye down a lot. It will also stay closer to room temperature. Your oil and lye-water are better to mix around the same temperature. I personally don’t use sodium lactate so if you don’t have it, don’t sweat it. Your soap will still be great! If you want to have some botanicals but don’t want the little bits in your soap you can infuse the oil ahead of time and strain out the botanicals and it will still have the properties in the soap. I make a gardeners soap that I infuse calendula and comfrey in my olive and safflower oil, then I strain out the plant material and use that in my soap making. Any essential oils that you like, you can use in your soap. Just remember things like cinnamon if used heavily can have a burning sensation. Happy Soaping all! 😊

They Don't Want You to Know About This $2.00 Raised Garden Bed from The Big Box Store!

This $2.00 raised garden bed will have you gardening in no time!

Comments -

-To all those living close to a Dollar Tree, they have very similar tarp style bags in their little seasonal gardening section. They might be a tad larger than what's seen here and cost only $1.25.

-I grow potatoes and cucumber straight in the sack of soil... I don't have a garden, just a little patio. Pots works great too if you don't have a garden. I have had potatoes, strawberries, red currant, carrots, lettuce, cucumbers, radishes, blueberry and chives growing in pots and bags on a rather small balcony. I live in Sweden so we can't grow all year around, but it's possible to grow more than you think! 😊

-For those of you who buy horse feed they now mainly use a strong plastic weave bag for most brands. If you turn them inside out so there is no labeling and cut the two-pointed ends off, roll the bag down to about 2/3 tall you get great raised containers. I use them to plant root veggies like potato's and such because instead of digging down I just take a razor knife and open up the bag throw the dirt into a new bag. No digging

-I use plastic cat litter containers for raised planters! I already buy the litter in them and it's a great way to reuse them. I planted tomatoes, peppers, and zucchini in them last year and they all did great!

Preserve Meat Without Refrigeration FOREVER with only 1 Ingredient! | Historical Salt Cured Meat

I love this ancient preservation technique to preserve meat forever with only ONE INGREDIENT and make it super delicious to boot! Curing your own meats is not only delicious and rewarding, but a great SHTF skill and just a super cool lost art. I hope this video helps you to confidently go forth and explFor this reason, I recommend using meat you have personally butchered or from a local farmer/homesteader you have talked to about their practices and feel comfortable with or go to a local butcher shop and talk to someone there about obtaining the freshest cuts of whatever you are looking for.ore the world of home cured meats.

Do note that our commercial processing practices leave most supermarket meat already in a very compromised state of bacterial contamination.

This will make a huge difference in not only quality but the success of using these old-fashioned techniques!

p.s. you can add any other seasonings you like too but salt is the important part! I really like black pepper and paprika. If you want to cut the salt a bit or are going for a more "breakfast" bacon, try using a mix of equal parts salt and brown sugar with black pepper on top, I don't think you'll be disappointed!

-lightning is beneficial for plants! my grandpa used to say how bad the garden needed the rain and lightning when it would storm ♡ ❤️ so grateful for all he taught me.

-I'm definitely going to be trying this. I just ordered copper wire from Home Depot and found two sites that you probably saw about this. One of them has a lot of the pictures you showed, and one has a really helpful Q & A for beginners. I already have bamboo poles to wrap the wire onto. I'm going to be sharing this video with my family. I've read about the theory that is similar to this about the stone towers in Ireland and only using copper, not steel gardening tools. I bought a few copper hand tools last year to use too.

-Outstanding! This topic hits some kind of deeply buried memory, feels like. But yes, outstanding info/vid, thank you, I'm on it! I prefer soil but I also wonder what it could do for hydroponic. If it nearly replaces fertilizer, that might make hydro stuff a bit more wholesome. Cheers!

-I always check for 1/4 inch of mold, then I know it’s time to shower.

-My father who was born in 1920 grew up in a small town in Texas, told me of a priest in that town who aged his deer so long that it would develop a mold and said the priest would remove the mold and still eat the meat. I had my doubts about the story but really appreciate your vlog to prove my father was not just telling me a story. Thank you.

-I once built a very similar stove/oven combo on a campsite in the woods. It took me 4 days, 3 tons of mud, 2 yards of rocks, 15 people helping and a lot of work. We didn't put that stove in the kitchen, we had to build a kitchen around the stove.

-Very impressive. I think you are on to something big. Keep up the great work.

-For decades I've complained that manufacturers don't use basic physics and consider energy conservation when designing products. ...so, individuals like this are heroes in my opinion. It takes three times longer to make a video presentation on a creation than it does to just make and enjoy it for yourself. Sharing knowledge is an investment in the future of our species.

Restoring Cast Iron Pan Found from Dumpster

I found this cast iron skillet from a dumpster and decided to restore it. It's very rusty and it's missing a handle, so I need to make a new handle. Funnily enough it was the same dumpster I found the previous cast iron pan too.

I started by cleaning all the burn stuff that was loose of first. It will be much nicer to laser clean when I don't have to burn those off with the laser. Next laser cleaned the pan. More info about the devices you can find from here.

Next, I sterilized the pan with isopropyl alcohol. Laser cleaning should clean everything off but since the cast surface is porous and there might be residues of motor oil or some other unhealthy oils from the dumpster, I decided to do this anyways.

I drilled a hole to make the handle removable. The pan is so heavy I didn't want to friction fit, especially since I will be heating and cooling it over and over again. Friction fitted handy would probably get loose really fast. I added a countersunk hole to make the screw sit flush with the cast iron for nicer look.

Now the pan was ready to be seasoned. I used canola oil and did 5 coats. I wiped the pan with liberal amount of oil and then wiped off any excess oil. Next it was put into the oven for an hour to burn on each coat. I had my oven se to 230 degrees Celsius.

I took a piece of ash wood. It's actually "leftover" piece from my previous project where I made base for the air compressor. I lathed the handle round first and then used a special technique to turn the other end of the handle oval. I off centered the other end of the piece while turning. The other end stayed round. Oval handle is much more ergonomic, which is why hammers etc. have oval handles too. The finished handle was treated with linseed oil and attached to the pan with a screw.

I hope you enjoy the video as much as I enjoyed making it. Thanks for watching!

Razor-Sharp Knife Sharpening Method in 5 Minutes

In today’s video I show you how to sharpen knives with a grinder to a razor. An easy way to sharpen a knife in 5 minutes!

You could use Thevenin's theorem in order to calculate maximum power you can harness. First you measure the no load voltage (electromotive force) (Vnl) between neutral and ground. Next, you short circuit neutral and ground and measure the current (Isc). Now you know that the internal impedance of your source is Vnl/Isc. It is known that maximum power is transmitted to a load when the load impedance equals internal impedance of the source. If for example Vnl=2,5V, and Isc=2,5A, internal impedance (Zi)=1 ohm. If you hook up 1 ohm of load, the total circuit impedance is 2 ohm. The current which starts to flow is 1,25 A, so the apparent power across load is 1,25^2*1=1,56 VA. I wonder how much current starts flowing when you short circuit ground and neutral.

Trapping Wild Pigs in Louisiana

(Catch*Clean*Cook) Huge Pork Gravy For 150 People

In this video, I show setting the trap and then catching six perfect size pigs the next day. I cleaned and quartered the pigs at the camp. Back at my house, I cut up the four pigs with my meat saw and seasoned all the meat with KFRED Seasoning. A couple days later, I cooked for 150 people at Whitco Supply. We had a huge pot of wild pork gravy, served with white beans, smoke sausage and corn maque choux. It came out so good, everyone couldn't believe it was wild pork because it had no gamey taste to it.

1760 How To Make The Dutch Stove -
A DIY Heater Worth Having

-The UK is facing real issues with keeping warm now. Instead of ranting about geopolitical issues, Robert with his usual cheerfulness and good humor, demonstrates simple, but effective DIY ways to keep warm that ordinary people can implement themselves right now. Kudos to Robert!

-Great idea! I'm a gardener. And we like to start seedlings in the late winter. And for that we have "heat mats" that go under the plant modules to keep them warm, at about 25C. Guess where I keep mine the rest of the winter? Yep, on the floor under my chair and plugged in when I want heat. It draws just 17 watts and keeps the feet toasty warm. Because if your feet are warm, the rest of you stays much warmer.

Here are some interesting facts about the dandelion flower:

The dandelion is the only flower that represents the 3 celestial bodies of the sun, moon and stars. ☀️ 🌙 ⭐️. The yellow flower resembles the sun, the puff ball resembles the moon and the dispersing seeds resemble the stars.

The dandelion flower opens to greet the morning and closes in the evening to go to sleep. 😴 Every part of the dandelion is useful: root, leaves, flower. It can be used for food, medicine and dye for coloring. Up until the 1800s people would pull grass out of their lawns to make room for dandelions and other useful “weeds” like chickweed, malva, and chamomile.

The name dandelion is taken from the French word “dent de lion” meaning lion’s tooth, referring to the coarsely-toothed leaves. 🦁

Dandelions have one of the longest flowering seasons of any plant.

Dandelion seeds are often transported away by a gust of wind and they travel like tiny parachutes. Seeds are often carried as many as 5 miles from their origin! Animals such as birds, insects and butterflies consume nectar or seed of dandelion.🐦 🐛 🐜 🦋 🐝.

Dandelion flowers do not need to be pollinated to form seed.

Dandelion can be used in the production of wine and root beer. Root of dandelion can be used as a substitute for coffee. 🍷 🍺

Turning Human Waste into Renewable Energy?

Human feces ranges from 55% to 75% water. Much of the 25% to 45% that remains consists of gaseous methane—produced by bacterial breakdown—and a solid residue which, if dried and concentrated, has an energy content similar to that of coal. Unlike coal, of course, this is a fuel that hardly needs to be sought or mined, but like coal, it can have a lot of value.

Can you use your own

poop as fertilizer?

Human feces can, and is, being used as fertilizer. This has to be sewage that’s been treated to keep disease risks to an absolute minimum. Human feces sewage has been used as a fertilizer in agriculture for centuries. It’s a practice that’s fully regulated and yet to show any contra effects.

*Is human urine really an effective agricultural fertilizer?

Yes, human urine has been proven to be an effective agricultural fertilizer. Researchers say our liquid waste not only promotes plant growth as well as industrial mineral fertilizers, but also would save energy when used on sewage treatment.

*Does human urine kill plants?

Undiluted urine is acidic and can kill plants. Urine is an aqueous solution comprising creatinine, urea, dissolved sodium, chloride, and potassium ions, and at least 95% water. It also includes organic and inorganic compounds. An excess amount of urine in the soil can lead to toxic nutrients, which will eventually kill the plants.

*Does chicken poop make good fertilizer?

Chicken poop is high in nitrogen, and lots of it in one area can burn the grass in high concentrations. It is an excellent nitrogen fertilizer in low concentrations that will help make your grass green, beautiful, and grow. You can also use chicken poop for your vegetable garden, compost, and fruit trees.
